Dueling Network Championship Series

Have you ever wished you could participate in YCS, but the fact that the tournament is held in different parts of the United States never made it possible for you to attend? Well Dueling Network is about to change that by introducing the Dueling Network Championship Series (DNCS).

The concept is the same as that of YCS, but it will be held in this forum every forty to sixty days depending on any other on-going tournaments. DNCS will be very similar to YCS and will test your dueling skills with the best DN has to offer. If you aren't familiar with YCS then I'll give a brief explanation. The tournament will consist of two rounds: Swiss, and Knock-offs. The swiss round will determine the top players that will headline the knock off round. Simple right?

The tournament will also feature articles from the various talented writers in Dueling Network ranging from feature matches, duelist/deck profiles, and player interviews. The first tournament will begin some time this week and from then on it will be held regularly throughout the year just like the real YCS. The winners will be featured in the victories section of the forum and will be able to call themselves a DNCS champion.

Guys if you have nothing constructive to post don't post at all. YCS is a very well known tournament especially since it's been around for all these years only difference is that before it was called SJC. The tournament has been replicated in multiple forums over the past few years.

If you feel this tournament will fail like the ones in KCTAU then by all means don't join. It was people like you that made that whole forum unpleasant to be in to begin with. If you feel that what we are doing is "unoriginal" because everyone has done it then by all means don't participate and play with the people that came up with the original idea.

If you can afford the travel expenses and all that is.

Question. This is gonna take place on DN, right?

The matches will be played in DN yes. We are getting everything organized to make this happen asap, but we need to figure out some stuff like how people will communicate with each other since not everyone uses hamachi like we're used to in other forums.

The tournament should be open for sign ups within today or tomorrow though.

So im assuming all duels will be arranged and managed by an admin or something to keep things official? As for a way to keep people in contact wouldn't a simple chatango group work, with a no anon rule or something?

haha I wonder if this would get coverage like YCS does.

We'll discuss the details of t he tournament later, but it will most likely follow TCG-only rules and formats.

Also, you have 7 days to meet the requirements.

25 divided by 7 = 4 days - 7 posts each day, or less if you become more active.

Wow this looks cool, can't wait, I'm not someone who wants to pay hundreds of euros just to play a card game. Thanks everyone who is making this possible, I appreciate your hard work.
A little suggestion, if not thought of, maybe we should start this after match option is available.

can we use synchros out of the TCG like Orient Dragon or Dragon Sirius? i jus would like to kno so i can fix my deck if i need to btw how many decks are permitted during the tournament

Looking forward to this! Here are some questions/comments:

1) Will it be a set time... aka, tournament runs 10am (which time zone) until 5pm? Or are you assigned a player and a time-frame to complete?

2) How are results posted? and next round match-ups given? PM? Forum postings?

3) tcg only, current format, great stuff. like a YCS without the airfare. there's real good players here.

4) I think the winners should get a special AVATAR that says DNCS Champ. That would be great.

5) if there's another link for these answers, please post. I want to sign up before the deadline (during the 24 hour lifting of the post restriction), but need to know the date/hours of the tourny to make sure of availability.
