Re: Field optional eff & BRD / Heavy storm
Why ?
Because I don't want opp summon 2800 syncro / 3000 beater after he nuke field ?
Well.. that one of it, but mainly because last thing happen was BRD nuke ?

Nope. Or at least, I could not see why. Last thing to happen is them being destroyed, soooo...

If their effect is activated at Chain link 1, Geartown will not miss the timing

Re: Field optional eff & BRD / Heavy storm
Last thing to happen is the nuke, or in other words everything being destroyed simultaneously. Unless you had something like Dandy Tokens as Chain Link 1, nothing misses timing.

Player nukes, nuke resolves and destroys field.
Field being destroyed is the First, only and last thing to happen.
Monster is summoned.
Can't see a problem here...

So last thing to happen is nuke field, not monster summon ?
That mean it will miss the timing for card with optional effect. Dandylion is mandatory, cann't miss the timing

Ok, let's built the chain:
- Summon BRD
- Active its effect as chain link 1.
- Resolve its effect, nuke the field and destroy GT.
- GT active its effect as chain link 1.
- Resolve GT's effect, summon a Ancient Gear monster.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Geartown does not even start a new chain. It just resolves.

It is an effect that start a chain and can be negated by Unicore/Royal Oppression/etc.

Re: Field optional eff & BRD / Heavy storm
Geartown's effect activates when it's destroyed, so it starts a new chain. Just like if you used Gates of the Dark World's effect, you're still starting a new chain.Ultimate lol wrote:Magicknight94 wrote:Ok, let's built the chain:

@TC: BRD summons itself, then it activates it's effect and destroys everything. Then the next chain opportunity would arise, Geartown or similar were just destroyed so you get the option of activating those effects (in a chain if needed).
Dandylion activates when it is sent to the Graveyard, which just happened to be before BRD was summoned. It activates at the same timing as BRD's Summon. Same with Doppelwarrior used for a Synchro. Had nothing to do with a whole missed timing thing.
I only mentioned it because if you used Dandylion for the Synchro, the Dandy Tokens would be Chain Link 1, then BRD nuke Chain Link 2. Resolving, BRD would nuke, then Dandy Tokens would Summon. Now the new opportunity for a chain would arise, but Geartown cannot activate because the last thing to happen was the summoning of the Dandy Tokens, not the destruction of said Geartown.
Hopefully this is a decen answer.

Re: Field optional eff & BRD / Heavy storm
Even nuke field when Dandy's on the field when nuke, Geartown won't miss the timing.
Here's the chain:
Summon BRD.
Activates BRD effect as Chain Link 1.
Effect resolved, destroys GT and Dandy.
Dandy's mandatory effect start a new Chain as Chain Link 1.
GT effect activates as Chain Link 2.
GT Special Summon an Ancient Gear monster first.
Dandy Special Summon 2 tokens.

No, unless another effect happens between them
like:
Black rose>Geartown would work
Black Rose>Dandylion>Geartown would miss the timing
like:
Black rose>Geartown would work
Black Rose>Dandylion>Geartown would miss the timing

Black Rose Dragon is the same thing as Demise nuking the field.
Geartown will not miss the timing.

Yea, though I was talking if Dandylion was used in the Synchro Summon for BRD. Not sure if you were reffering to me through that or not so sorry for any confusion.BlackwingRa wrote:Even nuke field when Dandy's on the field when nuke, Geartown won't miss the timing.

Re: Field optional eff & BRD / Heavy storm
thats the reason why the demise town deck exist, it not exist only cuz some random guy wanted to created a deck with no sense destruction.. but to abuse the effect of geartown while destroying everything...
