Solved Heavy Storm And MST beats Starlight road?

Post  George1994yugioh 2011-08-20, 10:56

Hi guys.
I just have a question about a video i saw. A man was speaking there and said this:
u have have storm and an mst at hand and the opponent 4 backrow. U play the heavy storm the opponent chains starlight and u chain mst, targeting heavy storm with it. mst is chain link 3 so it resolves 1st. Heavy storm is destroyed so starlight doesn't have a target to negate so it goes to grave last chain was the activation of heavy storm so all backrow are destroyed. Is that true? I want a judge to confirm it.

doesn't make any sense because MST just destroys not negates so Heavy storm would still be there for Starlight road to negate.

but then again im not a judge

it doesn't matter where the card is. It is negated wether it is on the field or not.

MST does not negate effect, it simply destroys a card.
Therefore, the effect is still in play and you wasting an MST was pointless.
While his/her card was face down, you'd have had to MST it. Neutral

It does not matter where the card is in the end of the chain. Even If the heavy storm is off the field and Starlight Road cannot destroy it, Starlight Road has already met its activation condition and will go off unless stopped by something that Actually negates.
Chain link 1: Heavy storm
Chain link 2: Starlight Road
Chain link 3: Mystical -Targeting Heavy storm.

My easiest example is Divine wrath Honest, Divine wrath will destry honest even if he is in the grave.

Another ruling to put as an example,
Player A summons a monster with one set Trap stun.
Player B Responds with Torrential.
Player A chains Trap stun.
Player B Responds with Mystical targeting Torrential destroying it.

So it activates off the field when Trap stun resolves without Torrential face up on the field. Destroying the summoned monster, that is the only way I can See that Mystical Stopping a certain card.

It's true. Because the chain will go backwards. So MST will destroy heavy storm, then starlight will negate the effect of heavy storm, but it can no longer destroy it because it was already destroyed. Heavy is negated by starlight road and was destroyed by MST.

Whoa whoa whoa, hold up there.
If MST did chain to Starlight Road thus destroying Heavy Storm (The literal card)
Then when Starlight Road resolves, since it cannot destroy Heavy Storm, it cannot summon Stardust.

It does make a big difference.
