Infernity Knight's effect is a trigger effect so I would assume that it would work... I don't thin kit's a cost...
Pretty sure it works... Could be wrong though...

Exactly becouse im having trouble letting other players know its eff is not a cost but they keep saying it is and at the end cant play a good duel in DN without a problem with that card.[i]

As far as I know, a cost is identified by having a comma, a period or the word "to" ... Infernity Knight has a semicolon though... so I'm not sure if it is a cost there ._.

Two things
One: Wrong forum
Two: Really helps to have the effect posted.

Infernity Knight's effect is a PSCT (Problem-Solving Card Text / http://www.konami.com/yugioh/articles/?p=2947 ).
So indeed it is a cost & can't trigger DW monsters' effects.

Infernity Knight is not a cost.
If there’s a semicolon, then everything after the conditions is divided between what happens when you activate the card and what happens when the card resolves.
Example:
When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 2 Level 2 monsters in your Graveyard; Special Summon them, but their effects are negated.
this card is not a cost eff.
its like Infernity Knight

The bold isn't a cost because it's targeting.

Probably stolen from me. Took a while to track down a such a clear render.
On topic, the discards are a cost, meaning Dark World monsters do not get their effects from the discard.
First part of Knight's effect is the condition to be met, second part is the cost, third part is the effect itself.

Evertything before a semi colon is not an effect. No exceptions.
It is a cost.
It is a cost.

Discarding 2 cards is a cost to special summon himself from the graveyard.
Just because the effect is optional does not mean the discarding is not a cost to activate his effect.
Look at it this way. Let's say you had Lightning Vortex in your hand it is optional to play the card or not since it is after all your decision but if you wish to use Lightning Vortex's effect then you must discard 1 card as a cost.

Ew, that's not how optional and mandatory effects work.

I know but it was the first example that popped into my mind.

This has nothing to do with optional or not optional. People just need to learn to read the text.
