Genex Ally Birdman w/ XYZ's
Hey Everyone I need a ruling by tonight please.
If Genex Ally Birdman is special summoned by his own effect, and i use him to make a Rank 3 XYZ lets say Leviathan. If i was to detach him for leviathans effect would he be Banished or sent to the grave?
The ruling on the wikia for Plauguespreader Zombie who has the similar "card removed from play when removed from feild effect" says Plauge would go to grave. Does Birdman follow the same ruling as plauge?

If you live in the OCG territory, it's pretty easy: The above applies, Birdman goes to the Grave, because Xyz Materials are not considered to be "on the field". Currently, in the TCG, Xyz Materials are considered to be on the field, so if Birdman is detached as a Xyz Material, it is "removed from the field", thus also banished/removed from play (if it was Summoned by it's own effect). However, that ruling is currently under revision (maybe)... nobody really knows if and how that ruling will change.surge1989 wrote:Hey Everyone I need a ruling by tonight please.

To give a reason why they do, they are no Genex Ally Birdman is no longer considered a face-up monster on the field. Therefore when it goes to the graveyard it is not going from the field to the graveyard but the XYZ to the graveyard and therefore gets around its removal ability.
