Solved Brionac can't use effect when D-Fissure is active. True?

Post  DuelKing 2011-10-13, 09:42

I was in a duel one time and my opponent had Dimensional Fissure active and told me Brionac wouldn't work nor would Polymerization because they specify "to the graveyard". I went with it, but I'm now checking just to be sure.

If a card has a cost that specifies cards have to go to the grave they can't activate.
The effect of Brinac has such a cost. However you say Dimensional Fissure. Theoretically you could still use the effect of Brionac by discarding spells and traps as they will go to the grave. Correct me if im wrong.

As for Polymerisation it's simple. sending the materials is not a cost. So polymerisation can be activated. the materials will just be banished instead.

D.Fissure only banishes monsters, when you toss out a Spell/Trap for Brionac then you're still able to fulfill the cost.

Macro Cosmos does stop Brionac because you're unable to send a card from your hand to the grave.

Why it cannot. Macro only prevents cost, not effect. It will redirect the Materials to banishes zone. That all. Too obviously.

Brionac will work if you ditch a spell or trap (If macro cosmos is on the field, it will never work.)

Polymerization doesn't work with d-fissure, because it specifies

Pox wait what?

Brionac can ditch spells/Traps while Dimensional Fissure is face-up on the field in order to return cards to hand.

Any type of Fusion card(including Future Fusion) can also be activated, anything that sends monsters to grave as a part of resolution of an effect will work while Dimensional Fissure is face-up. Any card that requires you to send monsters to grave as a part of cost won't be usable.
