Goddess of Whim Ignition rulings

Goddess of Whim
Toss a coin and call Heads or Tails. Call it right and this card's ATK will be doubled during this turn. Call it wrong and it will be halved during this turn.

Wikia states this as an Ignition effect (like Brionac).
the card however never states "once per turn"

This led to a funny situation where a person tried to infinitely use the effect till the atk was the desired amount.
Now the only thing that I was able to stop him with is a small line of the old rulings saying it can only be activate once during the main fase.
His counter was that is was reprinted in gold serie 4 without a new text.
I said the old rulings still applied till new once are issued.


No I know that the effect is once per turn. But is there something else I could base that on besides that small line or ruling?

Venus can activate multiple times in one turn.
And no. This card can not. I just want to know if there are other reasons other then this small old ruling.

I don't think there is any card that can toss a coin more than once per turn if the card text don't state that a coint is tossed more than once.
Beside that, your old ruling argument is totally valid...

Well, I would never have looked at the coin toss for the answer.
Are there actual cards that toss a coin and don't specify that it can only be done once per turn? Or is it just a remark that you don't know of any similar cards that could really explain it?
Also, an opinion to why the cards text was not changed in Gold 4?

Well, beside the fact that I definitly know from all Video games that it can only be done once (really, if it would not be like that, it shouldn't be that hard to fix...) the only thing that can do more than 1 coin toss per turn is something with a trigger, like ... that one samurai which triggers on attack/when attacked (forgot that name^^).

And I have no idea why the text wasn't changed...

The best explanation I could come up with would be
1) your old ruling argument, it is really still valible
2) common sense, if you really could do that a coin toss would just be nonsense and they could change it to "double the attack".

I agree. I came to my conclusion this way to. I guess it's just one of those things that is overlooked by basic rulings. Good to keep in mind for future card like this. If any.
