XYZ and their materials...

If I activate a card that destroys a card my opponent controls, can I target the material? and not the XYZ monster... just the material?

How about 1 card on the field?

Xyz materials is not "card on the field", so how can you destroy it with card says "destroys 1 card on the field"?

what about card opponent controls?

As I told you, Xyz materials is not "card(s) on the field". So nothing can affect them unless they said so.
