How do you use an effect that says "negate and destroy" on cards in the grave?

Dueling GBs: I use Laval Lady's effect and they use War Chariot.
Dueling Friend: They use Doomcalibur on my Flamvell Baby
Chaos: Again, they use something with an effect similar to War Chariot to "negate and destroy" my Laval Lady.

I'm not sure how that works, because I also don't understand how you destroy what's already in the grave..... scratch

They're negated, but not destroyed. The "destroyed" part of the effect simply does not apply, but the first does. Cards not on the field or hand cannot be destroyed.

yep, if it's in the graveyard, don't apply the destroy effect, but otherwise, everything pans out as it normally would

it similiar to Stardust Dragon vs Inzecter Hornet. Inzecter already in grave so Stardust can't destroy it, but can negate Hornet's effect

Cards in the extra deck can be destroyed as well.

Cards on hand can still be destroyed as normal.

Best example is if absolute zero is returned to the extra deck, and you use stardust dragon or starlight road. Absolute Zero is still negated and destroyed, and as a result is sent from the extra deck to the grave.

Cards in the hand and extra deck can be destroyed ,too, its just unusually,
and most of the time is does not matter.
However,some destruction effect even trigger in hand.
Eradicator Epidemic Virus triggers Geartown effect in hand,
and even if the summon of Grandmaster of the Six Samurai is neagted he still gets his effect.

In this case, monster isn't destroyed and stay remain in deck, not graveyard

Thats a special case, as it specifically names destroying in the deck, overwriting the game mechanic.
