a few questions.
1. Can stardust dragon use it's effect on itself?
2.what is the exact definition of being "destroyed" in this game

1. Lets say for instance the only monster on my field is stardust. and lets say my opponent has no monsters and uses black hole. Could i use his eff to save himself?

Yep. Stardust has one of the best effects.
2. Destroyed is by battle, and when a card specifically says to destroy the cards.
