in opp field: chaos sorc, formula synch, 1 dandy token
mine: nothing...
at my turn i ss cyber dragon (he says ok)
and i normal summon plaguespreader
can my opp activate his formula eff to my normal summon plague and synch trish
(2nd question: at this step..will trish eff activated / miss timing?)

Re: Formula Synchron ruling
Formula CAN chain to the summon of plague then synchro into trishula, since Formula has a quick effect. The chain would go like this
1: Summon PSZ
2: Formula effect to synchro
resolves backwards, so trishula would be summoned, then plague
Trishula would not get its effect, since plaguespreader is the last thing to hit the field
someone correct me if I'm wrong

Re: Formula Synchron ruling
Trishula's effect can be activated if you use Formula's effect to response to the summoned of a monster(s) that doesn't have trigger effect when summoned or the player doesn't call priority on the summoned monster(s). So in this case, Trishula can activate its effect.
And remember: Normal Summon and Inhereit Summon don't start a chain.

I would just like to point out he normal summoned PSZ from his hand. His Opponent then decided to Synch for Trish there is absolutely no thing here that would make Trish miss timing.
So yes you can summon Trish and it will trigger Trish effect

And that is so because Formula is NOT chained to Plaguespreader's summon. You cannot chain to a summon, because summons don't have a spell speed. What you can is respond to the summon. That doesn't start a chain. Using Formula's effect would be a chain link 1, like this:
Player A normal summons Plaguespreader Zombie.
Player B responds with Formula's effect.
Chain link 1: Formula Synchron.
Resolve backwards: Synchro Summon Trishula
Player B activates Trishula's effect.
Chain link 1: Trishula.
Resolve backwards: Remove Plaguespreader.

Re: Formula Synchron ruling
last confirmation:
-normal summon don't start a chain
(optional eff of the synch stil activated from formula synch eff in M1 opp turn)
so, any optional effect from "tris / black rose dragon / any optional eff"
will not activated in opp turn if formula is used when
-anything ss-ed (bulb, plague, spore (grave) // debris, junk (field) & many more)
-chained will any spell / trap / effect monster
*close it if i don't miss anything else*

Re: Formula Synchron ruling
sure it will, you only don't have to chain it to the effect that summons, you must activate it in response to the summon. Then it will be alright.kyubey wrote:so, any optional effect from "tris / black rose dragon / any optional eff"

Re: Formula Synchron ruling
@dest: so........which one are you referring "in response to summon"
a. debris summon (<< this)
(but people will use prio...it will start a chain)
OR
b. mill for bulb---bulb SS-ed to the field (<< this)
(this will start a chain too right?)
sorry for lots of asking >,<

Re: Formula Synchron ruling
opponent activates bulb effect -> summons bulb -> activate formula in response to that summon
opponent activates debris -> summons ... something -> activate in response to that summon
and so on and so forth...
"in response to something" is always refered to when you activate something after an action happened that doesn't start a chain like summoning, or after a chain finished resolving
everything else is chaining^^
