spirt reaper and effect veiler

people ingame are saying spirit reaper will destroy itself will apply even if negated .....



i think after veiler resolves reaper wont self destroy


someone even said it wasnt effect it was a condition but didnt give any sources

It is a continuous effect, that's why Reaper never dies instantly at the moment it is targeted, and Reaper must stay face-up on the field after an effect that targets it resolved in order for it to be destroyed by its effect. In this case, Veiler already negates it, so it won't be destroyed by its own effect.

Spirit Reaper's self-destruction has to resolve to destroy. Effect Veiler will negate that, so it cannot resolve and he stays on the field.

Same reason why Book of Moon will only flip Spirit Reaper face-down.

The case is simple, opp use heavy storm, I chain gemini spark, tribute neos alius, and targeting spirit reaper

Opp said I didn't get the draw because his spirit reaper suicide

Not really want to argue to speed the process.... but since we are all know spirit reaper doesn't destroy immediately on targeting (its on resolution)

(At the end resulting my loss because that -1 of field loss )
