Well, I was about to duel my opponent Monky. He was already in a duel though, so I waited till he was done. Then he just went offline all of a sudden. I'm pretty sure we can get the duel done in 1-2 more days. Sorry for the hold up.

DJD probably has real life priorities and can't manage such a tourney with a few free time, so he should get some help ,or try to make the top 16 cut earlier than 7 rounds. 16 people are easier to manage than 100.

Agreed, This tourny had too many people.
For that same reason and all the dropouts/inactivity half the people on the Knock.Out round will be there just cause of that :/
Idk about the rest but id hate to see someone who got there just cause half his opps were inactive or had droped out Evil or Very Mad

IMO this Tourny needs a redone (no offense DJD)

I like to sugest that sandlash Pm's a mod if he could be the new host of the tourney, because DJD hasent appeared and sandslash is very active on the forum.

Absolutely not.

If DanceJonDance comes back and sees that his tournament has been run without him, then he may feel sad or angry. I was quite pissed off when a similar thing happened to me on another site.

Just give him time guys. Whether we finish this tournament in a month or a decade, we will finish it eventually. If you guys are so bored, then play some non-tournament duels. There's nothing stopping you from having fun in the time being.

There is no hurry.

Having said that, it's not that I don't want to do this, it's just that I think there is no need. If a moderator gives me DJD's Challonge password and permission to take this tournament off his hands, I will do this job to the best of my ability.

I check DN Forums more often than any other website (checking nearly once an hour), so there is no danger of something like this happening with me.

I just don't think it's right.

Another thing to consider is I am not a moderator, so if this does become my tournament, it will be less official.

Just some food for thought.

A) Each player wins a single game, and the tiebreaker game is a draw.

B) All three games are draws.

C) Neither player reports the score, and it counts as a draw as a result.

All the draws you see (I think) have been C.

As it has been five days since DJD has logged in, I understand that people really want to get this thing going again.

I've already expressed my concerns about "stealing" DanceJonDance's spotlight, but if the petition for it is high enough, I will gladly discuss the issue with a moderator and see if I can take this tourney to its completion.

So, what do people think? Should I do it?

DanceJonDance-

So, as you may recall, you started a Tournament on Dueling Network Forums called the Dueling Network Championship Series.

Since your mysterious disappearance last Tuesday, the tournament has reached a lull and is unable to proceed. I did try to offer you assistance in the tournament, by organizing who won what matches, keeping track of players' records, and things like that. Unfortunately, it was in vain given your disappearance.

Several members of the tournament, mainly Paradox and Hunter23, have asked me to take over the tournament for you, since I am highly active on the Dueling Network Forums and I was trying to lend assistance to you.

I am hesitant to do this, because I can understand if you want to finish it yourself. On the other hand, several participants of the tournament are getting impatient and I am capable of running the tournament.

I have come to this decision.

I will ask the moderators of Dueling Network Forums for permission to take over your tournament exactly 24 hours after this email is sent. (This email was sent at around 3PM on July 23rd my time, which is the same as yours if your location that you have listed in your profile on Dueling Network Forums is accurate.)

If you do not wish for me to take over your tournament, let me know. I will not follow through with this plan if I hear from you before then. You can respond to this message, but be warned that I do not check email often.

I am much more likely to notice if you PM me on Dueling Network Forums.

I'm sorry that I have to do this, but people are getting impatient, and more and more people want me to take over your tournament every time I log in. I think it would be best for the community if the tournament continued now. Whichever one of us it may be, I wish the best of luck to the future of the Dueling Network Championship Series.

Edit: The 24 hours are up. I sent a PM out to the moderators requesting permission for this tournament to proceed under my control. If and when DJD comes back, I will gladly give it back to him if he wishes for it.

Edit 2: I have received a response from the moderators. The answer is no. I will not be taking over this tournament. Now we go back to waiting for DanceJonDance. However long that may take.
