Yay! Thank you The Detonator.
Round 5 matchups will be posted 24 hours after this post. This is to allow time for those who PM'd their game results to DJD thinking that he would come back.
As I do not have DJD's Challonge password, I will be posting the matchups in this thread, so check here (unless someone here has the password and would like to share it with me).
Also, as a note to DanceJonDance: If you want your tournament back, all you have to do is ask.

Re: Dueling Network's Championship Series - Summer 2011
Just so you guys know how matchups will be determined:
I will look at everyone's Win-Loss-Draw record, and pair those of the same record (as best as possible) according to a Random Number Generator (likely random.org or randomnumbers.info). The outcomes will then be randomized again and again until I get one in which nobody faces an opponent that they have faced previously.
Given that last variable, I need to know who's faced who before in an easy-to-read format. I started making a chart. And this is my advice for all of you guys: NEVER TAKE OVER A TOURNAMENT FROM SOMEONE ELSE. I have been working on this for over an hour and I'm still only halfway done.
There are three more points that I need to discuss.
First of all, it was my mistaken impression that this tournament had 102 people, when it actually has 103. This being the case, there will be one person who will not get an opponent. In that event, the player gets an "invisible" opponent. An invisible opponent always forfeits the game immediately, and its record in the tournament is treated as all losses.
Secondly, it may not be fair for me to continue to be in this tournament given that I am the host and have the ability to skew matchups to suit my fancy. I have already said that matchups will be random, and I will not interfere with them. However, as I cannot provide proof of this, I can understand why you would view it as unfair. I know that I would do the same in your shoes (especially if I got a "Drop--Auto-win" opponent on this next matchup as a result of random chance). I want to continue to be in this tournament as much as you do, but if it is the wish of the community, I will gladly step down. (It may be for the better, because that clears up the first issue, as we have an even number of people, but I still want to be in the tournament for the pure fun of it.)
Thirdly, I DO NOT have access to your decklists. This means that infinite side decking can go unpunished, and that just won't do. If you suspect your opponent of infinite side decking, I will see what I can do to contact DanceJonDance and try to gain a copy of the decklist. However, this is not a good guarantee, and you may just have to live with it. I'm tempted to just allow infinite side decking for all participants, but I just don't think that would be fair, given how a deck is made with a side deck, and you all entered thinking it as such.
So do reply letting me know your thoughts regarding these issues. I'm unsure how to proceed with it, but you know my tentative plans, anyway.
Matchups will be posted in 11 hours.
Edit: I just received an email from DJD. He says that he will allow me to continue the tournament until its conclusion!
Edit 2: I have a list of matchups now. I will post them in 8 hours, to give time to those who contacted DJD (which, if any, means I have to do the matchups all over again). In the mean time, if someone would be so kind as to post something here so that I do not double post when I post the matchups, it would be appreciated.

Re: Dueling Network's Championship Series - Summer 2011
Shouldnt every1 resend decklists? Or did DJD send you the deckllists?
Idk but FYIppl i have faced:
Nitman-R 1 Got the win cause of inactivity
Shangri-La - R 2 Won 2-1
mmcr14- R 3 lost 2-1
Vem123- R 4 lost 2-1
If you already have the info then nvm this.
Second,Im fine with you staying on the tourny, i trust fair play on your side.
And finally im still concerned with the issue of inactivity and people who have dropped out, Is it possible that if the number of people with the already said things are even(Wont afect the tourny) can they be taken out?
I know this may sound extreme and a little unfair to those who have dueled them.
BUT lets be serious i dont think any1 finds it good to get auto wins.
Much less to see people on the knockout round JUST cause they got lucky and got a majority of inactive/droped out opponents. But i guess this is just me :/
Also congrats on keeping the tounry alive hopefully it will improve and GL.

I was incredibly lucky to get in contact with him once. I cannot guarantee that I will do so again.
Nelrick wrote:Shouldnt every1 resend decklists? Or did DJD send you the deckllists?
He did not. Upon my list of requests that I PM'd to The Detonator was access to DJD's PM Box for this reason. We'll see if I can get that.
If everyone does send me decklists, that'd be fine, but let's be realisitc. There is no way I can get A HUNDRED AND THREE people to do this, especially since many have "given up" or "forgotten" about this tournament.
Idk but FYIppl i have faced:
Nitman-R 1 Got the win cause of inactivity
Shangri-La - R 2 Won 2-1

Yeah, I've made a chart listing off everyone's games. Mine matched yours, so at least I know I'm doing it right.
Second,Im fine with you staying on the tourny, i trust fair play on your side.
Aw. Thanks.
And finally im still concerned with the issue of inactivity and people who have dropped out, Is it possible that if the number of people with the already said things are even(Wont afect the tourny) can they be taken out?
I know this may sound extreme and a little unfair to those who have dueled them.
This would be ideal, and possible, but not recommended at this point because, well, like you said, it would be unfair to those who dueled them. Just wait until the knockoffs, which is only 3 more rounds. When this happens, I will use the Top 16 people, EXCLUDING the (Drop--Auto-win) people.
BUT lets be serious i dont think any1 finds it good to get auto wins.
It improves your rank in the tournament. Same as if you really won a match. However, this is compensated because if given a choice between someone who really won games or someone who "beat" a dropout, the system will favor the first.
Much less to see people on the knockout round JUST cause they got lucky and got a majority of inactive/droped out opponents. But i guess this is just me :/
Not true. Each time you "beat" a dropout, the dropout's ranking decreases and yours increases, so you are unlikely to face them again. With every win, you have a higher chance of facing a real opponent. Of course, this does mean that with every loss, you have a higher chance of facing a dropout, but given that you will "beat" the dropout anyway, it doesn't really matter.
This just balances the good duelists with the bad, but the good are still superior due to tiebreaker scores.
Also congrats on keeping the tounry alive hopefully it will improve and GL.
Thank you.
Matchups will be posted in 6 hours.

Re: Dueling Network's Championship Series - Summer 2011
You seem to only talk about the droputs but there are still a lot of inactive people on the tourny, my main concerm is with them cause they act like drop-outs but they are not.
- Jhonny has a final record of 4-3 on the tourny, 2 of the 4 were cause of a DAW and an inactivit on the opp win. He's looking to get into KO rounds. BUT:
-This other contender, Alex (I rock with names ) has the same WL score but with an overall higher( he has more 2-0) thanks to 1 of his opp being DAW and 2 other being inactive. Now tiebreaker score will make alex pass over jhonny (Figuring Jhonny can only get the last spot as the others got better scores) Now that is when i find a problem.
Simply put Alex advances cause he got lucky and got inactive opps, which is my concern id hate to see anyone in that position.
Now as situational as this may seem it is fair to say it could happen.
Now what i 1st wanted DJD to do when he was in charge was to DAW all the persons that were inactive for more than 3 rounds. That paired up with your system should stop those situations to happen as Alex will have 3 DAW wins in comparison to Jhonny's 2 which as you say will give Jhonny the last spot.
That isnt my point, let me be clearer by showing an example:When this happens, I will use the Top 16 people, EXCLUDING the (Drop--Auto-win) people.

DanceJonDance has suddenly gone inactive. The details of which, I do not know. However, from what I gather based on what the moderators told me, they are aware of it and it is unlikely that he will return.
Also, to both of you, I have noted your opponents' inactivity. If they do not respond within the time limit, you will gain a win.

Done. I changed it to "Summer 2011."
Also, the deadline for matches is OFFICIALLY August 4th.
You must have your matches done by the end of the day on August 4th (Pacific Time, which is both me and DJD).
Any incomplete matches count as draws, unless you post about an inactive opponent, in which case it counts as a win if your opponent fails to post by that time.

Does it matter since you can't change your deck during the tournament?

Re: Dueling Network's Championship Series - Summer 2011
No worries about delays.
At least you guys are having your matches.
Most people dropped after DJD left and we got a long inactive period.
As for T.G. Hyper Librarian, it is not legal.
The tournament began as TCG-only at a time when T.G. Hyper Librarian was OCG-only. At that time, T.G. Hyper Librarian was illegal for that reason. Technically, as it is now TCG-legal, you can use it if it was in the decklist that you submitted, which it should not be for the above reasons. You cannot modify your deck mid-tournament. (And if you suspect your opponent of doing so, PM me. I can check.)
