What's up with Sea Lancer being a Secret? Totally unnecessary.

1 mediocre Secret vs 9 awesome-looking ones.
I'm pretty sure getting a box won't be risky now.
But if I need a Sea Lancer, I'll just request it on my Trade Thread. xD

Unfortunately, Caius (another meta card atm) eats 3G for breakfast...
Also Johnny, have you noticed that it's mainly just you, me, and Caius that seem to be serious about the thread? The others must not believe...but they will...when they get Shark'd!

I think I'd rather write the Yuma.dek Guide. But that's just me.
Or perhaps the Photon Guide.

Totally not implying that Shark's gonna score dat ass in my Fan Fic.
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
I have a friend who really wants to make this deck, and I've been interested in it since Aero Shark is the coolest card to ever be printed. Too bad it's terrible. :<
I hope Lost Blue Breaker turns out to be good.

The anime effect is good though. 400 for each card in hand is quite nasty.XIVcaliber wrote:I have a friend who really wants to make this deck, and I've been interested in it since Aero Shark is the coolest card to ever be printed. Too bad it's terrible. :<

Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
If only it had the anime effect...
Still, if I pull one at my sneak, I'm keeping it, if only for the sick card art. Empty Space, Black Ray Lancer, and Leviathan Dragon are all perfectly fine cards, though, so I'm really interested to see how the deck does once the cards come out in the TCG. Actually, I'm wondering if Big Wave Small Wave / Coelecanth would work, to spam all the fish out of your deck without necessarily having tributes.

Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
That's why they got rid of that effect. Remember when Dark Strike Fighter was out? Konami's not TOO keen on letting Burn Effects come out from the Extra Deck, so they nerfed Aero Shark pretty hard, to a point only a few decks can really make his burn damage slightly relative.Roxzen wrote:The anime effect is good though. 400 for each card in hand is quite nasty.XIVcaliber wrote:I have a friend who really wants to make this deck, and I've been interested in it since Aero Shark is the coolest card to ever be printed. Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
To be fair, though, "Once per turn" could at least keep that card limited, as long as it's not in a format with Monster Reborn at the same time. DSF was Konami being stupid and not balancing cards. Aero Shark would be awesome with maybe a nerfed version of the anime effect, maybe 200 per card in hand, so FTKs couldn't happen with it (I'm sure there's one somewhere...), that way it wouldn't be a bad tech for the Banfish/Banishark/Sharketype/"funny" puns deck.
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
It still does finish games, you just have to know when you can drop it. Just earlier I banished about 4 cards and was nearly about to Banish a 5th Monster, but the guy didn't attack. The 400 damage from one turn ago and the 400 damage during my turn and yet another 400 from another Aero Shark finished the game. =|
There IS an OTK/FTK running around with Aero Shark's current effect.

Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
That's interesting. If I were ever to run a variant of [insert pun here], it would have to be Aero Shark burn. Maybe something with Macro.
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
I just hope that when/if Spiked Sunfish comes out, its ruling doesn't change on the whole "being sent to the graveyard" thing, like with Reborn Tengu or Sangan.

Nah, it's worded like Dandylion in such a way that no matter how it is sent into the graveyard, it will gain it's effect.
Dandylion is going to become quite the interesting Overlay Unit, seeing as he'll create Level 1 Field Presence by being ditched as an Overlay Unit. Plus, Shark used it that same exact manner, so it'll function just fine.

*Wipes brow with relief* That's a good thing. And it'll be a lulzy way to just use Xyz Gift, draw 2 while ditching a Spiked Sunfish and Killer Frilled Shark.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure I told everyone why Shark uses Salvage, right?

The Aero Shark OTK involved the following keys:
Chain Material
Fusion Gate
That's it. You then proceed to Fusion Spam a pair of Level 3 Fusions, and Overlay each one for Aero Shark. 3 Aero Sharks, 12 Fusion Materials in Total = 3600 Damage atm. Then you Fusion Summon the BIGGEST Fusion you can that uses more than 2 Materials (preferably Five-Headed Dragon). Summon a second one using the first Five-Headed Dragon as Fusion Material, and then summon a third one the same way.
By then, you'll have banished 5 + 5 + 5 = 15. 15 x 3 = 45 x 100 = 4500. 4500 + 3600 = 8100 Damage in total from all 3 Aero Sharks.
Is this consistent? I suppose it's about as consistent as you can make it. Dragons make it easier since at least most of them are useful anyway. This method can be used to spam Rank 3's and Rank 4's out the ass too, just saying. Not saying this is the best way to go for all Xyz-Spamming Decks, but it's damn-near deadly when you pull the combo off.
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
That actually sounds really cool. As far as Chain Material OTKs go, I'm not sure if I like that one or the Bombardment Bird one better, but when Exceeds get programmed into the game I'll definitely take a shot at running it.
Going back to my earlier question about the actual Sharketype deck, actually, would Coelecanth work, or are there not enough Fish-type monsters in the deck? I was thinking Big Wave Small Wave to get it out since you want to fuel your grave with Killer Frilled Shark anyways, then you can get it straight from your hand, ditch Wing Tortoise, and do all sorts of shenanigans. Would it work, though?

There's plenty of Fish to do that with, especially Needle Mambo(I will call it Spiked Sunfish no matter what) since his effect activates when he's used as an Overlay Unit. When used as an Overlay Unit, you can potentially decrease a threat's ATK score by 1000-1500, and have 3 giant beaters like 2 Leviathan Dragon on the field or even have Leviair the Sea Dragon swing over something while maintaining the ability to revive from the Banishment Pile and possibly create yet another Xyz Summon.
The possibilities become endless with the inclusion of Xyz Gift, Draw 2 and -1000 ATK for one opponent's Monster.
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
Especially if you can go into Coelecanth, summon two Spiked Sunfish and two Killer Frilled Shark from the deck, then overlay the two pairs (or alternate them if you wish) into Leviael/Black Ray Lancer, then negate effects/summon banished monsters while lowering your monster's ATK and dumping Fish Gardna into your grave. You can even tribute the monsters you summon to negate cards that would target your gigantic new monster. Genius!
EDIT: Have you ever thought of D.D. Sprite? It fuels most of the deck's engine and gives us a Tuner to work with, allowing us to go into Armory Arm and generic 7* synchros. Skreech might also be useful, to dump our important Water monsters. I'm also running Moray of Greed in my Coelacanth build for the extra draw power; I'll let you know how that goes.

Which is why the bigger needs to be smacked. He needs the hammer. Maybe a love-tap down to 1 or 2. At least the number of times that he pops up would be decreased if either happened. >___>
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
All of this new Fish support is just begging Konami to do something about the big one. Even if it gets hit, it's very powerful in that deck. Xyz need to happen now so I can test this monstrosity...
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
Xyz won't happen for a whiiiile. You're better off trying it in real life since the Xyz are officially out by the weekend after this one. (GENF previews)
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
And I hope to whatever God might be out there that I pull either an Aero Shark or a Leviael at the sneak.
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
Aero Shark I got guaranteed for 1$.
Leviair I'll just pull at the Sneak Peek so I can sell it when the price gets jacked up. I'd like to profit off it, and then buy new packs so I can go derp speed and get all the cards I need.
I seriously need to visit locals more often so I can join pack tourneys though. =/

We only have sneaks for open pack tournaments, every other week is just your standard swiss tournament. Kinda sucks, open pack format is fun.

Konami doesn't like Burn Damage-related cards coming from the Extra Deck. That's the only reason Number 61: Volcasaurus has yet to be announced because it is like Dark Armed Dragon and Dark Strike Fighter's bastard child. >_>

Hell, when I knew Aero Shark's anime effect, I knew 10,000x ways to OTK with it using Appropriate Exodia.dek with a twist of 2 Marauding Captains to eventually be drawn by my draw-spamming shenanigans.
Re: "Banishment, thy Name is Ruin" - BaniShark Guide
I had the same thought about abusing Aero Shark's effect, but Konami nerfed it (or saved it depending on the way you look at it) as usual.

Tell me what you guys think though while I'm editing the OP, I'd like to know if I'm doing good with it.

Big news, we got ANOTHER new card!
Fish and Swaps, a normal spell that lets you discard a card to add back 2 Banished Fish/Aqua/Sea Serpent Monsters from the Banishment Pile to your hand!
Konami really got behind Shark's deck.
